I performed this improvisation for the 2011 regional convention of the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers (CFAMC) on 5. November, 2011.
The piece is 'duo-themed', first being a depiction of an event taking place on Christ-mass Eve some twelve years ago and an individual (the 'candle person') whose story I'll relate at a different juncture. The second theme is the Advent hymn tune 'Helmsley' which for me is one of the most poignant of the season.
